Now That I Am Your Boss, You're Fired

I used to work alongside a certain someone for many years.  We always keep things civil but it was clear that the two of us did not get along.  Several years of being at the same station it appeared this individual got promoted to APD.  It was not the first time that I was overlooked, but it was painfully obvious that I had done much more for the radio station in a single year than he had done in his entire time he was employed for the station we worked for.  I did not think anything of it except the fact that the position was undeserving.  It was not long after that I was called into the program directors office and I was handed my walking papers.  This was a move that came entirely out of left field and I was convinced that the new APD had a hand in it.  My ratings were solid and I had a decent fanbase, I wasn't even making a lot of money a year so there was no justification on letting me go other than the fact that the APD did not like me.  On my way out I was not escorted by anyone and was trusted to leave on my own accord.  I wasn't going to do anything foolish, I was not one to sabotage a radio station or do anything that would jeopardize me finding another gig.  As I was leaving I waited on the elevator and by a simple stroke of luck the wife of the APD walked out as I was walking in.  I told her I was let go and that it was nice to have met her.  She said she was sorry and had wished me luck.  As we were wrapping up our conversation the APD walked out of the program directors office and saw me speaking to his wife.  He did not say anything but had a look on his face like he wanted me to hurry up and leave.  As I was leaving and the elevator door was closing I told the wife, "By the way, your husband cheats on you all the time.  In fact, he had gotten someone pregnant last year and paid for the abortion.  Good luck to you."  I do not know what had happened after that.  What I told her was not a lie, it was the truth.  Now that I was unemployed, I had nothing to lose by telling her.  Either way, I did not lose any sleep over it.
